17 Again

This one was surprisingly good. It was pretty funny, and since I went into the film with no expectation of it being any good whatsoever, I was pleasantly surprised. The only downside was Matthew Perry. Why the hell they thought Zac Efron (who’s actually not that bad looking in this film..)  would grow up to be a flabby sloppy slack jawed Matthew Perry I will never know. His voice bothers me in this film. Funny as hell in Friends, but give it up man. Your acting career is going nowhere. They should have chosen John Stamos to play older Zefron. It would have been much more convincing.

Now about Zac Efron. I haven’t seen any of his other films and decidedly disliked him before giving him a chance as a “real” actor, but I actually quite liked his performance in this one. I’m embarrased to say he surprised me. Maybe it was his cockier-than-thou character in the film, which I always fall for, or maybe it was because he laid off the highlights for this role. Whatever it was, I’d recommend the film to anyone, Zefron fan or not. Plus he’s got a rockin bod. Now regardless of this, I still despise his hair and perma-tan and stupid highlights. Lay off the fake tanner.

Leslie Mann was amazing too. Love her. Ace peformance by her.

I’ll think of something intelligent to write and post it later. Normally I’m very creative and often have a lot of strong opinions which I relay as passionately as possible, incorporating ample sarcasm and wit, however today is not one of those days.
